The proposed integration requests drive.file to create and manage backup files made or explicitly selected for this utility, not broad access to unrelated Drive files.

A secure home for nutrition history.
Hybrid Nutrition Backup is a private utility being developed to preserve the owner's nutrition records in encrypted backup files stored in their own Google Drive.
It supports the separate Hybrid Nutrition tracking application. It is not a public nutrition-tracking service and does not offer access to anybody else's Google Drive.
Development status: The backup service is not yet operational for real nutrition records. Google Drive access will be requested only during an explicit authorisation step. No live backup schedule or automatic file access is active through this information website.
Encrypted before storage
The intended design encrypts backup archives before uploading them. A recovery key is held separately by the owner, not together with the archives.
Owner-controlled history
Backup copies remain in the owner's Drive account. The owner controls their Google account permissions, backup retention and deletion.
What Google Drive access will be used for
When the service is completed and authorised, it will upload encrypted nutrition backup archives, verify that they can be retrieved, and manage only the backup files it is allowed to access. It will not use Google user data for advertising or sell it.
